Bank of Abyssinia Launched A New Mobile To Verify Users Identity 

In partnership with KOBIL Systems GmbH (an information security company), Abyssinia Bank has launched a new app that verifies the user’s digital identity.The new app has two-factor authentication (BOA 2FA) and uses for authentication, transaction authorization, and a digital signature that allows customers to safely log in to their account and perform secure Online Banking transactions.  Read More

NiB Bank to Upgrade It's Core Banking and Launch Digital Products  

Based on the suggestion of KPMG East Africa, Nib is pushing in the Digital Banking direction. Nib is expanding the digital banking system and infrastructure at a cost of 350 Million Birr. 

According to Addis Fortune, the expansion includes financial intelligence, mobile and internet banking, the customer relationship management system and interest-free banking. These works are expected to allow Nib to easily Integrate with third-party payment platforms. Read more

Ethiopia to Open Tender For Telecom License in 15 Days Ethiopian Communication Authority is set to announce the tender for two Telecommunication licenses in 15 days and the winners are expected to join the market until April 2021. The tender is expected to be open for 40 – 50 days. That will be followed by an assessment of documents submitted by the bidders and picking the winners. Agreement with the winners and issuing of the license is expected to happen in March/April based on the latest timeline from the authority. Read more

Ethiopian Airlines Taps AI's Predictive Power Ethiopian Airlines taps AI's predictive power to personalize passenger experiences and grow Revenue. Ethiopian improved sales conversions by 50%, gains an all-new window into online customer behaviors and interests. The Airline is using,  Genesys Predictive Engagement, an application that leverages artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning.  Read more.

A Gamified App That Teaches The Ge'ez/Amharic Alphabet

Ha Hu, an educational platform for children and adults to learn the basics of Ge’ez/ Amharic alphabets in an engaging and simple way, has been launched early this week. Raxio Ethiopia  to Build A Private Data Center in ICT Park 

Pan-African data center operator, Raxio Group, has secured land at Addis Ababa’s ICT Park, upon which it will build Ethiopia’s first private uptime certified Tier III colocation data center. 

It was a year ago that First Brick Holdings,a US-based Investment company, has announced that it's establishing, and investing in Raxio Ethiopia.  Raxio is building a similar data center in Uganda as well. Read more
