Ethiopian Coffee is Now Available On Alibaba Group's Shopping Platform Tmall Global President Sahle-Work announces that Ethiopian Coffee is now being sold on Alibaba Group's shopping platform Tmall Global to Chinese consumers. The launch was held virtually by the President's invitation to the Chinese community to enjoy the essence of Ethiopian coffee and strength the bond of friendship between the two countries. Watch the Video here.It is remembered that the Ethiopian government signed three agreements with Alibaba Group to join the Electronic World Trade Platform, an Alibaba-led initiative that aims to lower barriers to global trade for small and medium-sized enterprises through e-commerce.The eWTP hub, the second in Africa after Rwanda, will serve as a gateway for Ethiopian products to China and new markets, as well as offer support in smart logistics and fulfillment, and talent training, according to Alibaba. 

Visa Partners with STEMPower in EthiopiaLast week in an event held at the Hyatt Regency Addis Ababa , VISA, and STEMpower, announced a partnership that aims to drive Financial Inclusion and Job creation in Ethiopia for innovators and aspiring entrepreneurs.Visa is expected to support STEMPower to educate and equip innovators and aspiring entrepreneurs with business, management skills and financial education to better prepare them in establishing and running TechSMEs. STEMPower is an organization that implements  STEM programs (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) and built many STEM centers across Ethiopia. 

Gebeya Partners with Fidel Lab to Expand E-learning

Gebeya, an online marketplace that connects top African IT experts with businesses to develop technology solutions, signed a JV agreement with Fidel Labs to expand e-learning in Ethiopia.The partnership works to include developing marketing technologies that facilitate learning via diverse original digital content. The contents are said to be contextualized for the Ethiopian audience, accessible to a broader audience to the diaspora and beyond at reasonable prices. Read More

African Innovation Week to be Held Virtually

African Innovation week is the global movement aiming to energize innovation and entrepreneurship by organizing events by bringing global stakeholders from public, private, startup ecosystems, and academia in Addis Ababa.Due to the pandemic, this year’s event is going to be held virtually from November 9-13th with different thematic areas from Digitalization during and after covid-19, EdTech, Tourism Tech, Future of Work, and more.
